Education neededThe first step in becoming a combat medic is enlisting in the military, and scoring high enough on the entry exams to start training. Once these tests are passed, the medic must first undergo the 10 week Basic Combat Training program. After that, they receive 16 weeks of Advanced Individual Training to become a medic. This training includes basic medical training in combat situations, and learning to use and sterilize equipment.
